Review of Jane Eyre (2011) by Garrett C — 13 Mar 2012
This Jane Eyre will certainly be a favorite among modern audiences. Mia Wasikowska's performance is the best Jane I've seen yet, but Michael Fassbender's "Charlton Heston jaw" performance is a bit plain.
It's great that they decided to make it the mix of Gothic horror and romance that the book is, but the problem with this is that the movie ends up being a corpse. Dead and cold. This adaptation lacks the emotion of others, only showing snippets of strong emotion every now and then.
