I am a Jane Eyre virgin having never read the book or seen any other adaptations, therefore I can't compare to other films or tv shows. For me, the story kept me gripped and I was impressed by the two leads but it was most definitley lacking a spark.
..there was just no passion! And where was the ghost?! The trailers made it out to be super spooky and it really wasn't. Beautiful cinematography though and a bit of brooding Fassbender is always welcome!
