Review of Jane Eyre (2011) by Alison C — 07 May 2012
Not a good adaptation. My love for Michael Fassbender (and the too-short-presence of Harry Lloyd) was not enough to save this for me. It was all over the place. It was trying to force all these subplots and sidetracks into the story that were not necessary and just left me asking, "What was that all about?" over and over.
I can appreciate a good mystery but this mystery was presented with a couple "What the heck just happened?" moments that were never even talked about and life just went on normally. Only at the end of the movie did we get answers.
And the love was so quick and forced. Didn't buy it. Better off as a mini series. Maybe older adaptations are better.
