Review of Jane Eyre (2011) by Juan B — 22 Aug 2012
Although it's a compelling piece of art (I don't consider my limited knowledge of art a hindrance to judge it), I didn't find the movie any more than a mediocre drama. This is an exquisetly produced adaptation, but it doesn't add anything new to the gothic romance genre.
Besides the presence of Michael Fassbender and Judi Dench to shine some light into the proceedings, the whole thing is as cold and distant as Mia Wasikoska's unattached gaze.
