Uneven but has some very fine moments and Samantha Morton plays with much emotion and sensitivity, especially in the love talk scenes. Ciaran Hinds barks and yells a bit too much and makes his role a bit more arrogant than I would find Mr.
Rochester in the book but he does a pretty good job here apart from that. Some actors seem a bit too cheerful in serious and heavy scenes they're in, especially the guy who plays St John and some of the child actors.
