Review of Jane (2017) by Veena G — 01 Dec 2018
A very human and humane documentary about Jane Godall and her research with chimpanzees at Gombe National Park. It has a human interest lens and focuses quite a bit on her and her family life. It's a making of Jane Godall kind of movie.
I really enjoyed it. It chose not to look at the more technical aspects of her work or the larger picture re this kind of research and the fate of chimps today, but that was not its intent. In 1.5 hours the director tells an inspiring and cogent story.
The truth is one movie alone cannot do justice to such a monumental figure. Recommended.
