Review of James White (2015) by Ildefonso M — 28 Mar 2016
A deep and thorough look into one man's tragic life, Christopher Abbott is astounding as the target of grief and despair as he stands alone, caring for his mother (Cynthia Nixon) stricken with stage-4 cancer, whom has no problem implanting lumps in your throat in bulk.
Fair warning to those who've actually cared for loved ones though, the hospital scenes hit hard, and the home care scenes will make you miss the hospital scenes. It goes without saying that emotionally, this is a heavy film, but few films really branch out beyond melodrama, and put you front and center with true agony with family.
This one isn't going to be easy to shake off.
