Review of Jacob's Ladder (1990) by Tedd P — 17 Dec 2012
It's always kind of been trapped forever in the 90's, but Jacob's Ladder remains as perplexing and mind-bending of a thriller as you could imagine given its title. Tim Robbins is at his quiet, understated best here, but it's the cold, grungy hallucinations and disorienting cinematographic style that carries the movie.
When absent the story does tend to plod along rather slowly, but the twist ending brings it home with a bang.
