Review of Jacob's Ladder (1942) by Amani B — 10 Dec 2008
Good acting by Tim Robbins. Decent story.
A bit Hellraiser-ish at times. (Creating your own hell, in your mind, etc.).
Not much of an LSD trippy movie, so much as a DMT pre-death, non-linear mindfuck for the protagonist. Disappointing ending.
Unfortunately I had high expectations for this film. Maybe I would have liked it more had I seen this back when it came out.
