Review of Jacob's Ladder (1942) by Graham M — 08 Dec 2012
This film was a breakthrough in its time. It set the stage for an entire generation of thought provoking horror and thriller/suspense. Masterfully acted, masterfully filmed, and masterfully told. When I saw this in the theaters the entire audience was speechless from closing credits until they had nearly reached the parking lot.
Literally - not a word. It left that much of an impression. From Kassar and Vajna's heyday of collaboration, this is a masterwork of horror.
