Review of Jackie Brown (1997) by Eldin B — 30 Mar 2014
(An off the wall chart film by Quentin Tarantino).
A much better film starring: Samuel L. Jackson and Robert De Niro. One that is easy to follow. The storyline is great, one of Quentin's best storylines (better than Pulp Fiction.) The acting isn't bad, it's superb. Super star performances are shown for sure in this feature film. Jackie Brown is a major motion picture about a woman named: Jackie Brown (Pam Grier) who is bailed out of jail by a bondsman named: Max Cherry, (Robert Forster) Jackie hatches a plan to steal a half a million dollars from Ordell Robbie's warehouse in Cabo Mexico. After two police officers (Michael Keaton and ?) discover that the money from Mexico has been taken from Mexico to L.A. California they turn to Jackie as their only lead to figure out where the money is. Jackie takes their side. But does she? Or is she just playing all of the tables to protect herself?
I truly did love this film. It's a very straight forward film if you follow along closely. Some of it may get confusing when it comes down to the money part. But it is one of Tarantino's better films. Pulp Fiction had to many storylines to follow. This film had only one storyline. It is fantastic and a film that no one should miss out on. Also in the film (a small bit of information) they don't go straight for the half a million dollars that would be just to crazy and the characters would seem dumb. They actually do a practice test first. Then after succeeding they go for the half a million. Overall yes, Jackie Brown is an awesome picture.
Note: Sorry if I gave out to much information in this movie review.
