One of Quentin Tarantino's weaker productions, although all of his admirers will proclaim it as one of his great neglected works. Out of all of Tarantino's famed directorial crafts, his mastery of casting is always the one element that never fails in any of his movies.

I have respect for him as a filmmaker because he manages to direct his own scripts so often, allowing him to produce films closer to what he intended as opposed to films that get mutilated in the conventional screenwriting process of Hollywood.

Enough digression regarding the film-making process though, Jackie Brown certainly had a spectacular cast who were well-suited in their roles. Pam Grier and Robert Forster probably put on the best performances in this movie, but I have to say I really enjoyed watching Robert De Niro hit a bubbler-as a stoner and Gangster movie lover those scenes gave this movie massive special brownie points for me.

Unfortunately, the plot was just way too bland for me to really enjoy this piece. I will say that it was well directed and produced, oozing with Tarantino`s flavourful cinematography, but the core story of it all was far too simple for my tastes.
