Its the closet thing to a "character study" that Tarantino is probably ever going to do and as such, "Jackie Brown" remains his most reserved film and it really stands out from the rest of his work.

As much as I enjoy the stylized nature of "Kill Bill" or the lurid environment of "Pulp Fiction", "Jackie Brown" works so well because its set in the real world. The real danger for the characters isn't violence or prison, its a future without hope.

This review of Jackie Brown (1997) was written by on 15 Jun 2012.

Jackie Brown has generally received very positive reviews.
