Review of Jackie Brown (1997) by Renzo V — 26 Aug 2014
Quentin does it again, an amazing movie done beautifully. Tarantino has the gift of taking something that is ugly, dirt-filled, crime-riddled world, and make it into a piece of art more beautiful than anything Bob Ross coulda made.
Samuel L. Jackson gives a performance for the record books. But the chain is only as strong as it's weakest link and I can't find a single weak link. Suspense is a game played so well. These long drawn out cuts make you feel as if you are standing in frame with the characters, makes it feel very real.
Pam does a great job being a very strong, smart, sexy character. De Niro. What can be said about him that you haven't heard already. Something should be said for Robert Forster I don't remember seeing him before but he played this character with great conviction.
Kudos to Tarantino on getting these performances. WATCH THIS MOVIE.
