Review of Jackie Brown (1997) by Facebook U — 15 Apr 2015

Well, let's just say say don't go into "Jackie Brown" expecting "Pulp Fiction" because you'll be disappointed. Now they're similar. Jackie Brown provides all the smart dialogue, cool characters, and strong acting that his other films have, but unlike Pulp Fiction, this is very slow paced.

It's not quite as entertaining, but it does give it a chance to build the characters and plot. Since it's not dealing with multiple stories like Pulp Fiction, the plot is more focused, so those who aren't a fan of Tarantino's "out of order" story telling may find more enjoyment here.

Now even though it's really one story, there's still a lot going on here, and if don't pay really good attention, you'll get lost. Some could say it's overstuffed, but as long as you pay attention, I think you'll find a lot to like about the plots complexities.

It's a movie that actually makes you use your brain, and I like that. And in addition one of my favorite parts of the movie was since there was so much build up, it made for a much more thrilling climax that had me on the edge of my seat.

I'd say a pretty underrated movie.
