Review of Jackie (2016) by Dalton V — 12 Dec 2016
Thanks in no small part to one of Natalie Portman's best role to date, in many instances rivaling or even surpassing her magnanimous performance in Black Swan, Jackie eschews class and regality while also critiquing it, and with its booming violins, the whole feature feels operatic.
However, the nonlinear narrative choice is clumsily strung together and makes for a beautiful gem, just one that should be shining brighter.
