Review of Jackie (2016) by Brad B — 01 Jan 2017
Morose and melancholic, Jackie showcases some incredible performances in a stilted storyline. The film dips back in forth between the fateful day of JFK's assassination and her grieving period afterwards.
Natalie Portman captures the essence, with a breathy voice and all the mannerisms, as does Peter Saarsgard. The film doesn't really do too much in terms of theme or anything amazing, so its just a vehicle for good acting and little else.
