Review of Jackie (2016) by Delicate I — 25 Jan 2017
Jackie is a great acting performance by Natalie Portman, you can really tell she has researched and perfected Jackie Kennedy's minute nuances very well... quite possibly her best acting performance to date.
Therefore in my opinion it's just a shame this innocent storytelling without conspiracy is let down by a screenplay narrative that moves from present to past recollections rather disjointedly. It could have been better written.
I wish the Director had courage to hold important shots for longer impact as no sooner do you get to an important meaningful emotive scene it's cut to the next. For this matter you can tell 'Jackie' was originally intended to be a series of 4 television dramas.
.. the entire film should have been extended over 2 hours rather than a speedy 90mins.
