Review of Jackie (2016) by Jim M — 13 Mar 2017
"Jackie" was a truly dreary movie. It's pretentious, promising a deep look into the Kennedy era, but delivering the same shallow view as usual: the Kennedy White House equals Camelot. I expected to actually learn more about her and her life, but instead, I ended up pretty much at square one afterward.
The movie is maudlin, wallowing in the assassination and its aftermath and staying there as if not much else ever happened to the woman. It's just sad to see a movie that might have been so much more.
