Review of Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa (2013) by Seth Y — 09 Aug 2014
Bad Grandpa is presented in a format similar to Borat, in that it mixes an actual storyline with real scenarios. I did enjoy the style and thought it blended together nicely. Although the plot is very basic and nothing to be excited about, it is nice to have some sort of story to follow.
The real glaring issue with Bad Grandpa is the inconsistency. Some moments had me laughing out loud, but then I found myself sitting through 10 minutes of something that just wasn't on the same level.
Also, the random bits of the grandson doing solo pranks felt lackluster. Bad Grandpa, although not a traditional Jackass film, should hopefully tide fans over until the gang gets back together for another installment.
