Bad Grandpa is very funny and entertaining throughout. I don't know if the make-up deserved an Oscar nod, but Johnny Knoxville does look convincing as an old man. The kid actor isn't bad either.
Other than that the movie comes down to personal taste. If this is your kind of humor, then you will love it. If it's not, you will likely be grossed out by some of the gags.
