Review of Jackass 2.5 (2007) by Mike I — 02 Jan 2008
What can you actually say about a Jackass film that hasn't already been mentioned? Yes, the gang is back to their old bag of shenanigans, but in an interesting twist, this seemed more like a documentary about Jackass: Number Two, and whatever was left over.
Alot of extreme and hilarious scenes and stunts in this one, but unfortunately, it didn't have the legs or push that the first film... err.. scrap that.. the FIRST SEASON had.
Overall, this film started strong, and kept the momentum going into the last 20 minutes. However, the final push was extremely weak, and lead to alot of boring spots that left me wondering why I even thought this would be enjoyable.
I hope this is the last we see from the Jackass crew because as time passes, the guys seem to age horribly. Knoxville and Lacey appeared to be taking a huge slap in the face by father time. I think the whole Jackass fad faded after the first film, and their core audience, and original fans have all grown up and moved on, which should be taken as a sign and a hint from the crew.
