How Jack the Giant Slayer ever got made, or was expected to be profitable, remains a mystery. It's easily a low point in Bryan Singer's career and hard not to think he, and a lot of the others, were doing this only for the paychecks.
Almost nothing in the movie makes sense. The giants themselves look okay, all the other effects are horrendous. How they spent over $185 million and ended up with what they did, I have no idea. The cast is the only decent part, especially Ewan McGregor, but not nearly strong enough to save this ridiculous waste.
