Review of Jack the Giant Slayer (2013) by Jon Mikel B — 23 Jul 2014

Trading Standards should be called as the title is a bit misleading because killing two giants doesn't make you a slayer! Apart from that, despite the critics slating it, I thoroughly enjoyed this re-acquaintance of a story from my childhood.

For me Bryan Singer has been hit & miss, X-Men Franchise the hits & Superman Returns a huge miss, I was expecting this to be a poor fair but thankfully it had great action & superb CGI giants! Even the giants attacking the castle reminded me of LOTR which ain't a bad compliment.

Sadly though I thought the ending was a bit weak & that probably swayed me into giving this possibly a half star less in rating. The full ending though possibly points to a sequel in the future & hopefully it doesn't ruin the good work done here.
