I have to say that I really enjoyed this film. The setup was perfect, with perfectly cast actors and good direction from Bryan Singer. The film almost plays out like a live action fairy tale, while changing around the well known Jack and the Beanstalk story.

The film focuses on Jack, who has to sell his horse to help out his uncle's farm. Jack is actually given some beans, which than rise into the sky one night while it's raining. Jack has to help rescue the king's daughter, who was carried up by the beans.

The film's special effects are truly amazing, bringing a wonderful approach to the giants. The actors are also perfect, with Nicholas Hoult perfectly cast as Jack and Eleanor Tomlinson perfectly cast as Isabelle, while Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane and Ewan McGregor deliver wonderful supporting roles.

Bill Nighy is also once again perfectly cast in a major supporting role, as the main giant villain. The cinematography is also grand, as well as John Ottman's score. The framing of the story is also amazing, especially toward the end.

The film works well and is total fun.
