This site says that this movie "doesn't reinvent the action-thriller wheel," and it's right. The real question is: does the action-thriller wheel NEED to be reinvented? Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit answers that question with a resounding ABSOLUTELY NOT! Director Kenneth Branagh proves that the phrase "tried and tested" is not synonymous with "worn out.
