Review of Jack Reacher (2012) by Delphius F — 12 Sep 2013
3 out of 5 seems generous for a film that can't decide how seriously to take itself. I will have to admit that the fight scenes were actually well choreographed and realistic. No silly "squashed tomato" sounds from punching someone.
.. they sounded like real punches. And obviously Jack Reacher, as a character, doesn't know Kung-Fu... he knows Junk-Fu.... which seems accurate. If I wanted to disable five guys trying to fight me, I would totally smack them in the junk.
.. until they stopped attacking me. Kudos for the realistic fight scenes. However, the rest of the movie was predictable. Fromt he opening sequences where the police first cased the scene.... everything was laid out for the viewer to predict exactly what was going to happen.
Also, Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher?? Some of the dialogue and actions fit the character, but overall? No. Tom Cruise is no Jack Reacher. An "ok" film to watch if you have nothing better to do.
Easily forgotten, never-will-see-again....
