I haven't read the books so I don't have an opinion on whether Tom Cruise was a good choice as lead character. What I can say is that there was no reason for this movie to be 2h10min. Some editing would have been nice.

And can we please agree that the hero dropping his weapon and fighting his enemy with his bare hands is the tiredest cliche of all times? Other than that, it was an ok action movie.
