About as standard as standard action films go. It's a VERY paint by numbers action film but it does manage to be mildly entertaining as the action is often handled well. However, there is almost no originality in Jack Reacher to be found and the plot along with the majority of characters just aren't all that interesting.
It has some fun action moments that may be enough to warrant renting it, but it isn't worth buying or watching in theaters as it offers nothing new and is ultimately underwhelming.
