Review of Jack Reacher (2012) by Ilja S — 31 Jan 2016
Jack Reacher is a great movie that is really better than your average crime film. Tom Cruise is always fantastic as usual and always brings his A game in his films. Rosamund Pike is great in this and I forgot that she was even in this after Gone Girl.
The plot is really nothing new and felt like your everyday crime film, but it never felt like something out of a TV show, and it had a lot of style that prevents it from feeling like an episode. It does try to be smart which is good, and Jack Reacher himself is a memorable character that I want to see more of him if they made a sequel.
It has a lot of funny moments, and the car chases are very exciting which I'm glad to see that it had no music as it proves that you don't need music to make car chases exciting. The villains are really good, and seeing Jai Courtney in his first acting role in a movie, he has a really great start which is really nice to see that he's in other films other then this.
Jack Reacher is not going to reinvent the crime genre, but it's just going to entertain the audience which it did, at least for me.
