An enjoyable film that never quite succeeds at breaking away from it's theater roots. The work is kept afloat by strong performances, most notably that of John Ortiz as the best friend of Philip Seymour Hoffman's character.
"Jack Goes Boating" is worth seeing, but probably won't leave a lasting impression with viewers.
