Review of Jack Goes Boating (2010) by Tit M — 26 Jan 2011
With this small film, Philip Seymour Hoffman shows us he can direct a movie. Since we already know how well he and co-star Amy Ryan can act, unfortunately, the film has nothing new to show us. The story is based on a stageplay but not only is it slow but offers nothing new that theatergoers or filmgoers haven't seen before.
Unless you're like me and feel completed to watch almost everything put on film (hey, it's better than snorting crack), this is one you can probably live without.
