Review of Jack Frost (1998) by Simon B — 03 Dec 2009
As a kid I remember seeing this movie. I think I saw it in theaters but I cannot say for sure. The best parts were the snowball fights they were so intense and they made it look like a real battle. Looking at it now and hearing repeately that the film is too sad it is true.
I mean there are some funny moments but it is nothing compared to the sad moments. His father dies and comes back as a snowman. It is depressing and the humor does not outweigh the seriousness. I don't know why people think that it is a bad film because of it.
I guess when you expect a film about a snowman you expect it to be a fun happy film. Instead as I said before it is not. Overall, I did not think the film was bad it is well made and has some great moments that I remember as a child.
It is nostalgic for me.
