Robert Englund is and forever will be better known as Freddy Krueger, one of the genres most iconic and revered characters. But since then his appearances are nothing but disasters, his name alone enough to turn fans off. This is his best performance since the glory days in Elm Street and by far the best part of this overeager horror comedy. He plays a possessed science teacher and his enthusiasm is nothing short of infectious.

The rest of the cast is lukewarm at best, clumsy at its worst. Most attempts at comedy fail with just a few lines and a minor character (Howard, the hardware shop man) surviving the over-enthusiastic directors. There's not scares whatsoever, just some blood and some bad special effects. Fun and inessential.

Better is the low-budget 15-minute short 'Teen Massacre' to be found on the disc as bonus. If nothing else, it's earnest and has plenty of gore.
