Review of Jack and Jill (2011) by Daniel V — 07 Dec 2012
Jack and Jill points out how stupid hollywood must be to have commissioned this film, and how ignorant Adam Sandler was to actually make this. I expected crap, but not this.
The screenplay was ridiculously stupid in Jack and Jill and the plot was just cliche and stupid when it wasn't cliche.
Jack and Jill is excessively unfunny and full of crude humour, and even with that all the actors commit to their roles despite the ridiculous stupidity of EVERYTHING here.
Also, Jack and Jill has a really stupid plot and suffers from overused dynamics.
I guess on the plus side, Adam Sandler put a lot of effort into this film, and despite that it was crap he really tried. I occassionally laughed at the utter stupidity, albeit rarely.
Also, Al Pacino had a really interesting part, satirising himself and committing to the role with massive effort. It was interesting to witness in him. The best thing about Jack and Jill is that it reminds us that Al Pacino is still a dedicated actor, as well as diverse. Also, his final dance off scene was nothing like him, which was interesting to see.
Also, I was interested in the cameo that Johnny Depp gave to the film.
Still, Al Pacino aside I wouldn't reccomend Jack and Jill as a film to anyone, unless they're willing to see Adam Sandler sink low.
