Until seeing this movie, I was struggling with my opinion of Kareena Kapoor as an actress and as a "great beauty" of Bollywood. She has been popular for years, and now I understand why: she's amazing in Jab We Met.

Her personality is so--I'm going to use a cheezy word--enchanting and just makes me want to smile. She plays a girl named Geet who is running away to marry the guy she loves, only she hasn't told him yet.

She boards a train and meets Aditya, played by Shahid Kapoor (no relation of hers in real life--actually, they dated for 3 years I found out) who is desperately depressed and not even sure why he's on the train.

She drives him crazy. She talks nonstop. He gets sick of her and gets off the train to wander around, and in trying to help him not "miss" the train, she gets stranded with him wearing only her pajamas.

From here they have crazy adventures and she ends up dragging him home to her Punjabi family who mistakenly believe the two are engaged. It only gets more complicated as Aditya tries to help Geet get to her "fiance" in Shimla, a mountainous, Swiss-looking region of India.

There are awesome musical numbers filmed in exotic places, and the two stars are great together. I kept realizing I was smiling several times during the movie, which I don't often do when forced to watch something solo.

A fun, romantic movie that made a Kareena Kapoor fan out of me, finally.
