Yash Chopra, one of the biggest names of Indian Cinema passed away last October. His last outing 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' seems to surpass his legacy even better. The way late Chopra handled the issue known as love for the past 50 years remained the same but he always had a tendency to upgrade. But his last film (although he announced his retirement prior this movie) showed that he still tried to upgrade one step ahead.

The film starts off with Samar (Shahrukh Khan), a dutiful Indian Army Bomb Diffusing Officer, never cared about his life. He is daring and don't even take any precaution while diffusing procedure. Nobody knows why he's like that, but one fine day Akira (Anushka Sharma) a young charming journalist crosses his way and she comes to know about Samar from his diary. Akira knows the reason for Samar's such present life - Meera (Katrina Kaif).

The film shifts to London 10 years back where Samar was a young musician struggling for a job. There he met Meera, daughter of a business tycoon (Anupam Kher in a brief cameo). As the film progresses and downs Samar and Meera fell in love and with sudden twist they broke up. Heartbroken Samar returns to India and joins Indian Army to challenge his life and death everyday because of Meera.

Akira does a documentary on Samar's life named 'The Man Who Cannot Die' and calls him back to London. Samar comes back and with twist of the tale meets Meera again. Now Akira in love with Samar hardly digest the part of Meera's return but eventually tries to make up but fate has some other things for these 3 lives.

The story is excellent. The music and background by A.R. Rahman is simply magnificent and the lyrics by veteran poet Gulzar was just awesome. Performance wise Shahrukh Khan was clearly a winner. He just maintained the tempo of the film. The chemistry between Katrina and SRK was simply awesome. Anushka Sharma gave the best performance of her career till now after Band Baaja Baarat.

The film just celebrates the love as Yash Chopra always did. We are going to miss him very much. Indian Cinema will never be the same without Yash Chopra's love stories.
