Review of Jab Tak Hai Jaan (2012) by Kinshuk G — 17 Nov 2012
"Jab Tak Hai Jaan" makes life look easy. So easy that a self proclaimed 25-year-old, who looks 40, gets to kiss a girl who seems to have walked out of Vogue. You also believe that the latter, despite all her Mercedes and Gucci glory, can't keep her hands off a waiter.
Logic is the biggest casualty of JTHJ. In fact its story is its biggest flaw, totally hackneyed. You could say, of course it is, in any Yash Chopra film, but there was always a story in all previous ones.
If Shah Rukh Khan lip syncing to a Rabbi song every now and then is not annoying enough, Chopra seemed to have completely lost the plot with the dialogues this time. In terms of acting, Shahrukh is ok overacted at times, Katrina is plastic barbie doll as usual.
The only highlight here is Anushka, she is enjoyable as 21-year-old reporter. In one sentence, Jab Tak Hai Jaan gets its romance wrong, watch it at your own risk.
