Review of Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na (2008) by Sabrina I — 25 Dec 2010
The film is a decent effort but almost letdown completely by the acting. It's chock full of inexperienced actors who are trying their best but the problem is you can tell they are trying their best LOL.
Imran Khan has a long way to go..hopefully one day he will grow to be a good actor and with some screen presence, he clearly can't carry a film. This film is produced by his uncle and that's the only reason he's in it.
The script, is good but not great, the injection of lame humor was just plain BAD, it was not needed. They should have just concentrated on the main leads.I think this film was a big hit in India. I can see why, the love story is told in a more fresh manner than other Bollywood films but that doesn't mean theres anything new to say here or anything that hasn't been done before.
It's just feels a little more fresh and it didn't adhere to excesses which is probably why it kept my attention. If a director like Karan Johar was directing this, I would have turned it off long ago.
Overall, if you want to see an stale story told in a fresh manner-watch this.
