J Edgar is a surprisingly disappointing film, given the director and the main cast. Assumptions would have this movie become a yearly favorite, but as it progresses, nothing special is delivered or exposed.
It is a very average experience of a man not many know about. Although the film does provide an outlook on J.Edgar's life, it falls short of plot-line or entertainment, making it a somewhat mundane and pointless movie.
It is a pity, considering the work that was put into this film.
