Review of J. Edgar (2011) by Tom D — 22 Aug 2012
I didn't know too much about J. Edgar Hoover before this film, but it is was quite boring and still was a decent film. Clint Eastwood has directed some really solid films in the past decade, but this film ranks as one of his dissappointments.
Leonardo DiCaprio does a great job in the lead role, so do Armie Hammer and Naomi Watts in their supporting roles. The make-up used in the film is really good as the characters look realistic as their older versions.
The film is pretty long and the story drags on; I also thought it jumped from young to old quite a bit and didn't like that. I also thought there was a little too much narration. Overall a decent film with some great performances, but a little boring of a film.
