This long movie spans the entire career o it's namesake. Although it makes you understand where the man's convictions came from, it still portrays J. Edgar Hoover as a hypocritical self-serving authoritarian who was given too slack a leash by politicians through the decade.

Oh, and he was a creep. :) I guess the one positive thing about his tenure was his reliance on scientific methods to track criminals and the emphasis he put on lab work to solve crimes.
