Review of J. Edgar (2011) by James R — 12 Oct 2012
A story about a man who just couldn't accept who he was. The movie has another great performance by Leonardo DiCaprio, but the film lacks a character that I really liked. Hoover himself was a huge egotistical perfectionist that after awhile you just start to feel a lot of pity for him.
The movie is very very slow paced and several times the film doesn't really go the distance as far as it could. The film is shot beautifully though with harsh shadows and blacks adorning the actors giving off a great feeling of the mysterious of Hoovers own life.
I'd say if you're interested give it a rent!
