DiCaprio is excellent, as always. The movie, however, is not. To call the plot plodding would be generous. The story line is confused with unclear flashbacks. The homosexual elements of the story are unsupported by historical evidence.
At 21/4 hours, it is also over-long. The whole thing is, well, kind of a mess.
