"J. Edgar" 10 Scale Rating: 6.5 (Solid) ...
The Good: DiCaprio gives one of the better performances you'll ever see. He easily carries the movie and you can tell he studied Hoover's mannerisms extensively. The movie as a whole is interesting, though that may be because I found many of the eras it takes place in fascinating.
The Bad: The rest of the cast simply cannot match DiCaprio and are mostly an afterthought. A few moments were way cheesier than expected and felt out of place. With the exception of Hoover, the "aged" actors looked fake and that is unacceptable in a film like this.
