Review of J. Edgar (2011) by Jocey D — 26 Apr 2013
It's a bit dry but it is still a fascinating historical commentary. Very well acted. Easy to forget that is Leonardo DiCaprio and Naomi Watts. For all his weaknesses and flaws, John Edgar Hoover still accomplished much to honour and protect the American people, even if his methods were in doubtful questionable and condemnable.
I learned a few new details about the man and his times. If nothing else, he established a centralized finger print data base. He recognized the legitimacy and importance of forensic science.
