Review of I've Loved You So Long (2008) by Daniel B — 16 Feb 2009
Very emotional and typically french film about a difficult subject. I actually thought the conclusion and of course what had happened was fairly obvious to the point where I'm not really sure that it was supposed to be any kind of big secret.
Clearly the best thing about the film and the main reason to see it is Kristin Scott Thomas's fantastic performance. So many character layers to deal with effectively and she does a truly breathtaking job.
It's captivating and sad in equal measures and again is a film that for some reason I don't think would work so well in the english language. Very very good indeed....
