Review of It's Kind of a Funny Story (2010) by Cassie H — 04 Dec 2011
Such an adorable movie, however weird that might sound about people locked up in an mental institution trying to get better. I enjoyed this film a lot & I thought it was also very insightful on how someone who had to live in this kind of place would think & feel & these things are shown through Craig Zilner (Keir Gilchrist), a teenager who tried to kill himself once & couldn't go through with it & then there's Bobby (Zach Zalafinanakis) who tried to kill himself six times & was checked into the institution.
Craig entered the institution by his own admittance, & that's why he's there. Noelle (Emma Roberts) is there because she was causing herself pain emotionally by cutting herself, which is what most teenagers do when they're depressed then there is Craig's roommate, who won't ever leave his room until the very end of the film when Craig puts on an Asian record for him.
What's amazing about this movie is the lessons that these people learn & what Craig experiences when he falls in love with Noelle. I give this movie 5 stars for being excellent & exactly the kind of film that we as teenagers or young adults need for pure enjoyment.
A great film that you definitely need to check out :) See for yourself the brilliance of this amazing movie :) Very enjoyable! :).
