Craig (Keir Gilchrist) is an angsty teenager who checks himself into a mental hospital on account of suicidal depression. While there he meets a troubled adult (Zach Galifianakis), a tormented young lady (Emma Roberts), and an assortment of other colorful characters that help him put his issues in perspective.
It's Kind Of A Funny Story reeks of adolescent whining, but it feels genuine and I found the story relatable to what I went through when I was sixteen. Combine that with the movie's warm moments and one finds oneself with an amusing, evocative, and honest film.
