Review of It's Complicated (2009) by Matthew B — 02 Feb 2011
I'm not really a fan of the rom-com genre, hence this will be one of my shortest reviews. Since the story is usually a cliche with these types it's really hard to make something out of it. What I can say is that it was midly likeable, which for me was a surprise. Still in terms of the trailer I was hoping for more comedy and less romance, didn't really happen.
It had it's goods in terms that it made me laugh. There are many awkward situations which usually couples don't go through. Meryl Streep, as always remains a perfect dame but thanks to Baldwin things get spiced up a bit. Steve Martin however is a bit out of his element here and looks even a bit dorky - maybe on purpose. However I hoped him to be the one who stirs up everything.
Basically a decent movie, it had it's moments but since I'm not the target audience I'm having a bit of trouble enjoying it. However the case with me, I still would recommend it to others.
